Stephanie Buckham has a passion for the insurance business.  She is a licensed sub-agent for her husband of five years, Jeff Buckham, Jr., at Farm Bureau Insurance in Portage, MI.   For Stephanie, serving the people of Michigan is a family tradition.  Her father is a Michigan State Police officer and her two younger brothers are members of the Michigan Army National Guard and have served in Iraq.  Stephanie sees insurance as her way to serve and protect the people of Michigan.  “It is my job to be there for my clients on their worst day,” said Stephanie.  “To help them put their world back together and ease their burden.  I take that responsibility very seriously.”

Stephanie was born in Ann Arbor, MI and has enjoyed having the opportunity to live in many different cities through our great state.  She is a graduate of Eaton Rapids High School and holds a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University.  Stephanie and Jeff live in Kalamazoo with their three-and-a- half-year-old son, Cale, and dog, Teddy.  “Cale is the light of my life,” shared Stephanie.  “Jeff & I are having so much fun rediscovering the world through his eyes – everything is so new and exciting.”  Cale is the sixth generation of the Buckham family to farm in Oshtemo.  Although the family raises a variety of animals and crops, they are most well known for their sheep.

The most important objective at the Buckham Agency is to insure their clients are properly protected, as opposed to being simply insured.  This is done through a comprehensive insurance review which includes : assessing a family’s current programs, evaluating their objectives and coordinating coverages to minimize gaps and overlaps.  It is Stephanie’s goal to educate her clients so they understand what their insurance covers and how it works.

Farm Bureau Insurance is a Michigan-only company and is owned by the members of Michigan Farm Bureau.  When Stephanie joined the Farm Bureau Family, she knew she was committing to do more than simply sell insurance.  She was committing to help people plan and prepare for their future and helping them in their time of need.
